Healthy Schools

Our centre is part of a National initiative to promote Healthy Schools

A healthy learning organisation is an effective learning community, which supports learners in achieving their potential academically, personally and socially.

We aim to provide an environment and experience of school life, which promotes the physical, mental, emotional and social health of all who learn.

Our healthy eating policy

Sweets or fizzy drinks are discouraged in the nursery. Parents are asked not to send these items into nursery even in lunch boxes (full time children).

We encourage the children daily to ·

  • Drink milk (if allowed)
  • Eat a piece of fruit or vegetable

Parents are asked to send at least one piece of fruit or a vegetable each week to contribute to the above.

Birthdays are an important event. Parents are welcome to send a simple cake, which can be shared with friends.

A cooking activity normally takes place each week. Again staff will always aim to use healthy ingredients and stress the importance of hygiene at all times.
