Speech and Language

At Green­fields we aim to meet the needs of all chil­dren. Some chil­dren have very dif­fer­ent spe­cific needs such as speech and lan­guage. These needs can range from gen­eral delay, dif­fi­cul­ties to mak­ing cer­tain sounds or stammering.

In order to effec­tively sup­port indi­vid­ual chil­dren we have Speech and Lan­guage Ther­a­pists who works along­side staff to set indi­vid­ual pro­grammes which tar­get the needs of each child. These pro­grammes are then imple­mented by staff within the set­ting each day and in the con­text of their play experiences.

This early inter­ven­tion enables chil­dren to move on in all areas of the cur­ricu­lum and sup­ports them in devel­op­ing their lan­guage and com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills.
