Southall 0 — 19 SAFE team
SAFE = Supportive Action for Families in Ealing
The 0 — 19 SAFE service is a new service in the borough, which is piloting a new way of working by providing a holistic and integrated service for children, young people and their families where additional need has been identified. The Southall team is the first of a number of locality-based teams that will be established in the borough over the next year or so.
The Southall 0 — 19 SAFE team is based at Talbot Road in Southall. The team responds quickly to children, young people and families showing early signs of needing support, thereby reducing the likelihood of them requiring additional or more intensive services in the future.
The team also offers services to the general Southall community, such as parenting classes, early years play and development opportunities and a comprehensive information resource that provides advice and specialist information about local services such as community and faith facilities, as well as activities in the local area.
The team includes social care, education, health and mental health professionals, working together with children, young people and their families to improve outcomes for them.
Parents can refer themselves to the team for help or advice or can be referred by nurseries, Children’s Centres, schools, GPs or other professionals.
