Wednesday, June 3rd 2020

Good morning,

You might remember that a few weeks ago Paula shared some Bucket Time activities with you, Bucket Time is particularly for children who have social and communication difficulties as it helps to improve their joint attention skills.

This week Paula is going to be sharing some Attention Building activities.  In the Early Intervention Group, we begin our group time sessions with a Bucket and then follow on with the Attention Builder.  The Attention Builder will extend your child's concentration time and joint attention skills.

Paula will demonstrate the activities so that you can watch with your child and some of them you may like to do again yourself with your child at home.

Creative Workshops

Monday, May 18th 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

At this point in the summer term we would usually be working on a creative project with our artists in residence Rosie Potter and Patricia Ayres that the children would initiate, plan, develop and create.  We would then usually take these projects out into the community to share with our friends and families.  Those of you that have been with us for a while may remember our Water Donkey Project and our Wonderwall Project.

We are very sad that we will not be able to bring the children and families together this year for a shared creative project, but instead we have worked with our artists and their students from Wimbeldon College, University of the Arts London, to develop a series of creative workshops that you can enjoy together with your children at home.  Each week you will be given a starting point for your project but you can be as creative as you like and develop it however you and your child would like to.  We would love it if you could send some photographs of your creations to and then we can share these with everyone on our website gallery so that we can all see what you have been creating during this season that we cannot be together.  The students will also use the children's work as part of their project and assessments to submit to their university.

Look out for project number one which will be posted later on today.

Creative Workshops - a collaboration between students at Wimbledon College University of the Arts London and children, staff and families at Greenfields Nursery School and Children's Centre

Warm regards

Bucket Time

Monday, May 4th 2020

Good morning everyone,

If you have children that have social communication difficulties you may have heard your keyworker talking about 'bucket time'.  Bucket time is an activity that we do everyday with some of the children at nursery and this week Paula will be sharing some videos with you to help you do bucket time at home with your children.

These videos are for you to watch each day with your child.  Your child will enjoy the familiar activity with Paula and you can learn how to do it so that next week you can do it by yourself with your child.

We hope you find them useful, here is bucket number one.

Bucket Time One

We will be back tomorrow with bucket number two.

Dear Parents and Carers,

If you have not been affected financially by the Covid 19 crisis and are looking for ways to help others, Greenfields are working closely with the Ealing foodbank to support vulnerable families.  We have referred a number of families to the foodbank to help them to feed their families during this time and are acting as a donation point in Southall.  As you can imagine the demand for this service is very high at the moment and any donations that you may be able to make would be very gratefully received.  Greenfields is open for donations on a Mon, Tues and Thurs 11am-2pm.  We will then arrange for these to be delivered to the main foodbank centre in Hanwell. Please follow the link below to find a list of foods that are currently needed and your closest donation point.

I am so grateful to be working in such a kind and caring community at this time, I hope you are all keeping well and safe and I look forward to seeing you all as soon as it is safe to do so.

Warm regards
